I subbed in kindergarten Friday. I took this picture of their magnet board where one of them spelled out the word “Twinkle”. I thought this word was so perfect to describe them that day. They are all so excited about Christmas that they literally have a twinkle in their eyes. We made parent gifts, an elf, a Christmas tree. It was a day full of fun. As I’m sure it was in the classroom in Connecticut. I’m sure they were busy, having fun, crafting. Being sweet little ones who can’t contain their excitement. I later found out what tragic events had occurred while our day went on like any other. This situation has affected me so much this weekend. I am so sad to even imagine what the mothers and families are going through.
I have held my children closer. I realize how precious this life really is.
But
We will not live in fear. We will go to school everyday and do our best, to be the best that we can be. To be good. To share good with others. To share kindness so that kindness will spread. We will always look for the good in the world because there is so much more good than bad.
We will go on with this Christmas season, and celebrate our saviors birthday. But we will not forget to notice the flags at half mast amongst the Christmas trees. And we will not forget the families who are going through such pain that we can't even imagine.
Tonight I will count my blessings. And pray for peace to those in need.
*Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the Kingdom. ~Luke 12:32
*I am leaving you with a gift- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. ~John 14:27
*This is my command- be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. ~Joshua 1:9

So sad. I wrote my blog post the night it happened cause I couldn't sleep. I was up till 1am. It's such a long rambling post that I may change it ....or not. I saved as a draft. I was so upset with the days events. And when I'm in that mood I type away my emotions.
Well put post!!!! Hope your week has a "Twinkle!!"
