33.
It seems that not too long ago, thirty something was old. Now, not so much. 33 is where I want to be. I want to be present in every moment. I want to squeeze every bit of life out of it. I want to see the beauty and joy in everything.
I want to be me!
I woke up to the sounds of whispers, giggles, and sneakiness. Danny left for work before we ever woke, so these girls got up early on their own to surprise me! They gave me beautiful handmade cards, and my favorite fall candle. Their sweet, giving spirits make my heart smile.
I met a group of friends for lunch at my favorite lunch spot! (If you haven’t been here yet, run, go now!)
I am truly blessed with the most amazing friends. Some, that go all the way back to a different time in life, some new that I feel like I have known my whole life. Thank you ladies, for the friendship that you give me everyday!
We attended our Uncle Pauls funeral today. Not exactly birthday fun, but part of life. We were happy to be there and honor our Uncle Paul. The girls always saw him at decoration every year, so they remembered him with happy memories.
It was a long ride to the cemetary, so the girls had fun with my camera.
This ray of sunshine came through this tree right on Paws grave. I think he was saying
hello.
As we were leaving, we saw this pear tree, that was covered in pears. We couldn’t resist.
Someone stopped on the gravel road and told us “If you see a brownish suburban comin this way…..you better run…..Old mans crazier than a run over dog!”
We didn’t take any chances. We grabbed our pears and ran!
Our ride home was filled with sweet juicy pears, and talks of crazy ran over dogs!
It was truly a wonderful birthday. Filled with family and friends. My heart is full.
So here’s to me and loving 33. I promise to make me the best that I can be. I am embracing my laugh lines, and happy squinty eye wrinkles! My attitude is gratitude.
Lucy took this picture of me in the car, and told me I had to put it on the blog because it showed my lip gloss was pretty. lovethatgirl
I want to say thank you to everyone for the birthday calls, cards, hugs, food (thank you maw), and love!
To say I am a lucky girl doesn’t even come close to covering it!
I recently finished reading this book. If you haven’t read it, run! go now!
I am taking the challenge. I am choosing today to start. I will list one thousand things that I am thankful for. What more perfect day than today to start, when I am overflowing with thankfulness!
My One Thousand Gifts
