When we woke up today, we knew it was Christmas Eve because Fandy had been reading “The Night Before Christmas”!
It was such a beautiful day, so the girls spent most of the day outside. They were digging for dinosaur bones!
We enjoyed a quick visit from Samantha and Kristey. They came down to say Merry Christmas and play for a few minutes.
As soon as it got dark, the girls were ready to start all of our traditions. First they went outside and sprinkled reindeer dust all over the yard to help the reindeer find our house!
Everything was fine until we spotted lights in the sky. I have never seen anything like it. It HAD to be Santa’s sleigh. There was no other way to explain it. It sent these girls into hyper drive. They were READY for bed. They did not want Santa to miss our house because they weren’t asleep!!!
Lucy was just beside herself. She had tears in her eyes every time she spoke. She just couldn’t contain it! She even told us that she heard something from the sky that sounded like “Ho Ho Ho” Anna said she was just exaggerating.
We had saved Santa our most beautiful cookies we made, and even wrapped up our carrots so that the reindeer felt like they were special too. A big glass of milk to go with it, and we were ready for Santa! They sat it all just perfect so he would see it when he came down the chimney. They even left him thank you notes.
We opened our last door on our Christmas box, and read the story of Jesus’ birth. Then crawled in bed for a reading of “The Night Before Christmas”. They wanted to sleep together, so they snuggled up, and were ready for Santa to come!
“The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads……….
