Today was Anna’s second grade orientation. She was so excited about it that she couldn’t stand it. The school has been longer this year posting the class lists. Usually they have them up by now. She has been dying to find out who her teacher is and who is in her class. She was very disappointed when we got there and they still did not have them posted. They told us that they would hope to have them by tonight.
At 7:45, when she got out of the pool, she said “Mom can we please just go check?” so we threw on her dress and headed to Challenger (wet hair and all)! She screamed out loud when she saw that the signs were posted.
~At the end of first grade, they got to tour the second grade classrooms, and meet the teachers. She has told me all summer, that she hopes she gets Mrs. Beauford. She said she was nice, has animals in her classroom, and is the perfect teacher.~
She ran to the doors where the classes were posted, and started scanning the lists. She started jumping up and down, when she realized that she had indeed gotten Mrs. Beauford. she said “I can’t believe I actually got her!”
She has a few friends from her kindergarten class, and a few from her first grade class that will be with her this year. But she said she knew who all the rest of them were too. She is so excited. When we got home she told me she was going to go in and act sad and tell daddy and Lucy that they hadn’t posted the lists, and then surprise them. She is a little trickster!
On another note, Lucy poked herself in the eye while playing basketball. It doesn’t seem to hurt her very much, but it looks terrible!
She didn’t even know that it had happened until a little while later when she saw herself in the mirror. She came screaming saying…..”I have a bloody eyeball!”
But she is ok, all drama aside. I am keeping a close eye on it to make sure it doesn’t get any worse!
Happy Wednesday!
