2nd Day of 2nd Grade!

Day 2 of second grade was a success! She is absolutely loving her teacher! I get to be her room mom again this year, so she is really excited about that. This morning, she did not want us to walk her in. We are very proud of her for being so independent!

She told me no pictures this morning, so I had to be sneaky!

Lucy got to come with me to the “Hair Shop” today, as she likes to call it. She was so excited because Mr. Billy curled her hair!  She pranced around fancy for the rest of the day!

This afternoon, we went to Anna’s open house. She got to show us everything in her classroom, and we got to learn a little more about her teacher. We learned that her daughter goes to Alabama, and is Big Al! How cool! She said that she is going to get her to come “visit” the classroom sometime this year. Anna would love to get to meet Big Al! She also told us how many years she had been teaching, and she said she used to teach in Germany. Later in conversation, I asked her where she taught in Germany. She told me that she taught in Stuttgart, at Patch Barracks, which is where we lived in Germany. We figured out that I was in 2nd grade in 1987, and that she taught 2nd grade at that exact school in 1988-1989. One year after I left! I just thought that was the coolest coincidence. How neat would it have been if Anna and I had the same 2nd grade teacher!!! It really is a small world!
