Anna really wanted to do something special for spring break this year, so we decided to head to Chattanooga for an overnight adventure!
When we arrived, we checked into our hotel….The Chattanooga Choo Choo!! the girls were thrilled to be staying in a real train car!!
After checking out our cool train car, we took off to the Tennessee Aquarium. We got to ride the downtown shuttle to the aquarium, and the girls thought that was an event in itself!!
When we got off the shuttle, we were right in front of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. It was Free Ice Cream Day, so we headed in for some free ice cream cones!! (We actually stopped back in again, on our way back from the aquarium!! yep, free ice cream twice. We really like to live on the edge!)
The aquarium was so much fun! Daddy even got to feed a sting ray! twice! He said it felt strange.
The butterfly house was so beautiful!
Next we went to see an imax movie called “Born to be Wild”. It was incredible. So good! It was about baby elephants and baby orangutans that had been rescued. We just loved it! Anna has been wanting to see it for a while now.
Daddy took us out for a yummy dinner, and then we headed back to the Choo Choo to walk around and explore. We found a Sweet Shop where the girls each got to pick out a piece of candy and we headed back to our train car to rent a movie. We were pretty disappointed to find out that we couldn’t rent one, but the girls were happy to watch a couple episodes of cupcake wars!
(I’d like to say we fell asleep and slept like babies, but that was not the case! Anna coughed all night, and Lucy was feverish with a belly ache. Not fun!)
We woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed (or not) and went to breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we went to the gift shop, where the girls got to pick out their conductor hat that came with our room. Then we were off to the Miniature Train Museum.
Our last stop was at Ruby Falls. It was breathtaking!
When we came out of the mountain, we got to see some amazing views of Chattanooga.
We had so much fun on our Spring Break adventure! We hated to leave, but we were ready to head back home to our Rosie! She was so happy to see us!!
Thanks Chattanooga for all the fun! We’ll definitely be back again someday!
